9th Arrondissement Guide
Opéra: For the Adventurous
A visit to Opéra is a study in refined and slightly seedier culture living side-by-side. In the south stands Opéra Garnier, also known as the Palais Garnier, a nearly 2,000 seat opera house built for the Paris Opera and setting of The Phantom of the Opera. In the north lies Pigalle, a red light district.
