Visit one of the last remaining mushroom farms in the Paris underground
Angel Moioli of Les Carrieres is the grandson of one of the original champignonnià¨res of Paris’ underground quarry farms. Moioli sells mushrooms to locals, restaurants, and chefs in the city. Grégory Spinelli runs Clos du Roi, another farm located in an old quarry tunnel.
Attend a Jim Haynes dinner
Nearly every week for over 30 years, Jim Haynes has hosted a Sunday dinner party at his home in Paris. The chefs are volunteers, the food is potluck style, and the company is different every time. Go in the spring or summer, when you can spread out in Jim’s courtyard with your fellow strangers and make a friend or two. Reservations are required.

Heighten your senses by dining in the dark
A meal at Dans le Noir is not unlike many others in Paris; rich in taste and texture. Unlike others, it’s served in a pitch-dark dining room by staff of blind waiters. You’ll be asked to leave your electronics at the door and sign a waiver that covers accidental food stains. But you’ll leave with a deepened appreciation of the pleasures of your senses. And to us, that’s what Paris is all about.
