Things to Do in Paris in February

Posted January 16, 2015 by

While many people visit Paris in the Spring and Summer, the festive winter season can be a wonderful time to take in the amazing in the city - while avoiding the hoards of tourists that arrive in the busier months. The February chill is often interrupted by Spring-like days, and makes for a fantastic month to visit.

Here are a few things to do this February in Paris while you explore the City of Lights

1) Take in the Jeff Koons’ exhibit at the legendary Pompidou Centre. Playing now through the 27th of April, it is sure to be a highlight for those interested in modern art. The Pompidou Centre has been a modern marvel since it was built and has one of the very best views of Paris from its entry way.

2) Visit the Paris Opera Ballet. One of the world’s premier ballet companies, the Paris Opera Ballet is sure to be a treat. The theater itself is worthy of a tour on its own, so be sure to leave enough time.

3) Ice skate! There are several temporary rinks set up throughout the city during the winter months, and tourists are more than welcome to take part. The rink at Hotel de Ville (metro: Hotel de Ville) is perhaps the most iconic rink but there is also a rink the Champs-Elysées in the Santa’s Village (metro: Charles de Gaulle Etoile)
